Rules for Abstract Submission

1. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations must be submitted through the web page, which uses a submission system on a UMIN server. Abstracts submitted through other media
(e.g. e-mail, fax) will not be accepted by the Symposium Secretariat.

2. Abstract submission process will require the Registration Number of a presenting author. Registration can be completed from the "REGISTRATION" page.

3. Applicants for the Young Investigators' Symposium or the Poster Competition must be at the age of 35 or younger as of April 30, 2010. Abstracts selected for the Young Investigators' Symposium will be also presented at the Poster Sessions.

4. Important abstract deadlines
Oral Presentation (incl. the Young Investigators' Symposium): July 31, 2010 (Closed)
Poster Presentation (incl. the Young Investigators' Poster Competition): October 8, 2010 (Closed)

5. After July 31 (submission deadline for the Oral Presentation), the Program Committee will impartially select abstracts for the Oral Presentation and the Young Investigators' Symposium from a scientific point-of-view. Corresponding authors of the selected abstracts will be notified as soon as the Committee has made its decision. Presenting authors selected for the Young Investigators' Symposium are nominated for the Good Stone Award.

6. Abstracts that are not selected for the Oral Presentation will be considered for the Poster Presentation. Abstracts that are not selected for the Young Investigators' Symposium will be considered for the Poster Competition.

7. Winners for the Good Stone Award, the Poster Award, and the Travel Award will be awarded at the Farewell Banquet on December 9.

Instructions for Abstract Submission

1. Author List
Please note that there is limit on the number of institutions and authors that you can enter on the Abstract Submission page.
Maximum number of institutions: 10
Maximum number of authors: 20

2. Abstract Title
The abstract title must be less than 150 characters including spaces.

3. Abstract Body
a) The abstract body must be less than 250 words, or 170 words if a table or figure is included.
b) Only one image (table or figure) can be included at the bottom of the body.
c) Acceptable file format for the image is JPEG (.jpg) and GIF (.gif), within 3 MB in size.
d) The image may be reduced and printed in grayscale.


Attention!
Upon submission of your abstract, you will be issued an "Abstract Submission Number", which is required to view, edit, or delete your submitted abstract. This number is different from the "Registration Number" for conference participation.
